Cranberry Media Appreciation Event in Guangzhou

On January 8, CMC launched a Media Appreciation Event at Guangzhou W Hotel to promote cranberry products. Cranberry Super Fruit Wheat, a special beer developed by Rocky Wang, brew master of Guangdong Craft Beer Association, who was sponsored by CMC, was featured alongside a wide selection of cranberry drinks developed by prominent master mixologist Eddy Yang from Shanghai.

At the start of the event, 26 members of the media were welcomed with cranberry punch and canapés. Mabel Zhuang, CMC’s China representative, delivered an opening speech. Brooks Erickson from Bryant Christie Inc., consultants to CMC, presented the history, growing regions, harvest, and unique health benefits of cranberries, as well as their diverse product forms and applications. He also shared with the audience US cranberry’s latest export figures.

Rocky Wang next discussed the creative process for Cranberry Super Fruit Wheat. This unique beer has a tart flavor and ruby red color. It took about one month to brew the beer by using cranberry puree provided by CMC. Cranberry Super Fruit Wheat will be available on tap at various bars in Guangdong Province this coming spring.

Eddy Yang then gave the audience a detailed introduction on mixology applications of cranberries in various product forms – juices, cocktail mixers, frozen, and dried cranberries. Eddy demonstrated these applications by preparing on-the-spot 4 different types of cocktails: alcohol-free, low alcohol, classic cocktails, and unique cocktail creations. Members of the media were impressed by the multi-functionality of cranberries and how they could be mixed with different kinds of drinks. Three of them got on the stage to learn from Eddie how to make the cocktail Cranberry Cosmopolitan.
